Quayside -Baltic
Well it was slightly cold last week when I drew the Gateshead Quayside , but not completely Baltic !
I decided to do a long panaromic drawing capturing the wonderful shapes of bridges , buildings and water . The call of warm coffee stopped me in my tracks or doodles. So I added some water colour this weekend to complete the picture .
Bamburgh - a Winter scene
A new website and allowing me to show more of the artwork
Well we are in a period of miserable weather and deepest winter , but art opportunities continue !
Bamburgh Castle , the colour of the stone is not usually this colour , but on a damp, wet and frankly dark day the reds and brown of the castle walls were really prominent along with the angry sky . An A4 sketch in my pad and a splash of colour , a nice drawing for the start of the year , as I have been busy on this website

A new beginning
A new website and allowing me to show more of the artwork
Well here it is - the new website! -I have been asked so many times (by so many kind people) that I have taken the time to create the website.
I am often asked how or why do I choose a building or scene to draw, a really difficult question. Sometimes I simply walk around waiting for inspiration or often a time pressure of needing to pick a position. The image here is from Mexico in Puebla, The memory of this image was going out early in the morning, before breakfast and having just an hour to draw. So I sat in the main street and sketched. Early morning commuters stopped - often - and in Spanish said kind words. The highlight was a cup of coffee from a lady entering her apartment. It doesn’t get better than that, sketching, peace and quiet and a good mug of coffee.
Please enjoy the website and any comments , please drop me an email of message .
